Royal Priests

Christy McHugh — This week Christy shares on how we, as followers of Jesus, are invited into the privilege Israel has, to be a chosen people, a royal priesthood. This is the vocational calling of every believer. Our calling is to carry his name, to demonstrate who he is in every ordinary moment of our day. How we bear the name of Yahweh well, is how we live out our vocational calling in exile.

As we dispel the myths about what it looks like to “make it” as a follower of Jesus, we will explore what it looks like to make God’s name holy in our everyday, ordinary lives. We will also look to see what being a Holy Priesthood looks like in our daily lives from Monday to Sunday.

The series will end by looking at Jesus' counter-cultural mission of discerningly seeking the peace and prosperity of the city. We will remember that life is about the big thing God is up to in the world and not one’s personal fulfilment.
